STAGES Artists Bikes at the Armory

October 2nd is a special day for Lance and the LIVESTRONG team. That is the day Lance was diagnosed with cancer many years ago. To commemorate that day Lance and Mr. Thompson hosted a special dinner at the Armory on October 2, 2009. The Trek art bikes were one of the highlights of the event and they are still on display for special preview at the Park Avenue Armory in New York.

These unique artist bikes, which were ridden by Lance during his 2009 return to competitive cycling, were designed with Lance and LIVESTRONG as inspiration. The six Trek bicycles were created by Damien Hirst, Marc Newson, KAWS, Shepard Fairey, Yoshitomo Nara, and Kenny Scharf, and they will be on display until October 22, 2009. The bikes will be auctioned by Sotheby’s on November 1, 2009 to raise funds for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
