Opening Night at STAGES Miami – The Whole Story

In amongst all the hype and festivities that is Art Basel, the LIVESTRONG message is alive and well with the launch of STAGES in Miami. Hosted by O.H.W.O.W and located at 888 Biscayne Blvd, Miami Beach, the opening of the show in Miami brought together art collectors, followers and press in one stop. Atlas Sound (the heavily hyped solo project of Bradford Cox from Deerhunter) played live, STAGES artist Shepard Fairey DJ’ed, and a number of the featured artists including Rob and Christian Clayton, Erik Parker, Rosson Crow, Geoff McFetridge and Dustin Yellin.

With Lance Armstrong and Mark Parker both in attendance to drive home the show’s mission through their ongoing support alongside the amazing group of artists who contributed their support and talent to the cause. With the additions of Tomoo Gokita, Erik Parker and The Clayton Brothers, STAGES continues to grow with new works and new ways to interpret what STAGES is and what LIVESTRONG means.

Of particular note for the Miami leg is the sheer magnitude the show. Housed in a large industrial space built out specifically for the exhibition, it’s a ideal home for these works and a perfect space to showcase the cause to the wider world. With so many key figures in attendance, it proves again the level of support has been given to the project since its launch in June in Paris. This was one great event and way to round up Stages for the year.

A few of the photographic highlights below. STAGES Miami continues its run at 888 Biscayne through Sunday December 6th.
